BABY TREASURE BOX

I made this Baby Treasure Box for a dear friend's baby girl. It took two days and some trial and error but I was satisfied with the end result. I scraplifted the idea from the Close To My Heart Bulletin Boards - the lady who posted her version had used an older box from CTMH and said that the project and poem didn't originate with her and she hadn't kept a record of who first made it, so I can't give the original paper artist credit.

I used La Belle Vie paper pack and our My Creations Recipe Box because I wanted it deeper then the original one made with our Card Box. I blinged it up with our Pearl Flourishes, La Belle Vie My Stickease, and our Roses Ribbon.

Here's the front:

Here's the top of the box:

I made the 3-D Roses with our Cricut Artiste Cartridge, and her name with the font from our Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge just because I like the font better. One thing to keep in mind, is to peel the pearl flourishes off and put it down where you want it on your project just a bit at a time to prevent it from tangling up on itself.

Here's the inside of the lid:

I hope you can read the poem. I didn't write it, and neither did the Consultant who posted her version on the Bulletin Board, so it's origin is unknown. I used decorations from My Stickease and the Roses Ribbon in the crease. It's pretty, but resulted in my having to use industrial strength velcro closures on the lid and box. Next time I think I'll put the Roses on the outside!

Inside the box I put four sets of 12 "note" cards stamped with butterflies, flowers, and "True Story" at the top:

My girlfriend doesn't scrapbook so I wanted her to have these little notes at hand to jot down the cute baby memories we all cherish with our children. And the box is big enough to hold more treasures as Ava gets older.

If you'd like to make a DIY Gift with our My Creations Recipe Box, I have a template I can email you that will be helpful in covering it properly. Just leave me a request in the comments with your email and I'll get it off to you.

I'm on holidays for a week, so thanks for stopping by!

  1. OMGosh Laurie!!! This is beautiful! The treasured moments cards is such a great idea, wasn't sure what you would put inside. I remember mentioning you were working on a baby gift, but WOW ! TFS

    1. Thank you! I really enjoyed making it and I'm doing up two for boys right now. La Belle Vie papers really worked for a girl, and I'm doing the boys in Dakota and our retired Superhero paper for a little guy who's 4 and in love with superheroes. thanks for stopping by!
